user interviews
To understand the needs, preferences, and pain points of potential users, a series of user interviews were conducted. Participants were selected to represent a diverse range of hiking experience, from occasional hikers to avid outdoor enthusiasts. The interviews were semi-structured, allowing for open-ended questions to explore various aspects of their hiking habits, challenges faced, and expectations from a hiking app. Insights gathered from these interviews played a crucial role in shaping the user personas for Nomad. jobs to be done
When I first download the app, I want to be able to create a profile, so that I can have curated content for me
When I first open the app, I want to be able to discover new trails by either suggestion or search, so I can find inspiration for my next hike
When I’m looking for inspiration from like-minded individuals, I want to be able to have a community page, so that I can connect with other hikers/users
When I complete a hike, I would like to be able to earn badges and awards, so that I can have something that shows my accomplishment
When I arrive at a trail, I want to be able to check-in to the location, so that I can use the navigation and tracking features
When I am taking a walk or run, I want to be able to use the navigation and tracking features without checking into a specific trail, so that I can save the stats
When I’m viewing trails or articles, I want to be able to save them, so that I can easily find and reference them
